Ancillary task: Final poster (Anthony Doyle)

As a final step to my poster I added a slogan: 'The moon shines on one man' this is shown at the bottom of the poster.

Final poster

Shown on this post is my final teaser poster product. My poster has changed considerably from the plan. I have chosen to use a single eye shot to maximise the mysterious element to the image. I have however stuck to the red eye design and have included our film logo on the Bottom of the poster.

Poster research

As well as my plan i went to the length of researching similar teaser posters. I thought seeing other posters would give me inspiration would spur me on to take more time to my poster and benefit from a greater result.

Above are ideas that i found for my research file:

Research for my website

When researching different websites to give me ideas to use as a base for my own website i had to consider several different aspects, for example i wouldn't want my website to have romantic connotations like "The Time Traveler's Wife" . As our project is a fantasy film.

I also do not want a colourful website like "The Princess And The Frog" as our project is more of a low key and dark teaser trailer.
although one website that caught my eye is the "Avatar" . It is very catchy and quite effective.

Logo update

When starting our ancillary task the first thing we did as a group was create a logo for our project. We did this in only one lesson and created a reasonable logo. When we were further on into our ancillary task i decided to tamper with the logo a bit and see what i could create. The result was satisfying as the logo then became more lively and energetic which perfectly displayed our project.

Our original logo is shown here:

Ancillary poster plan

For my Ancillary task i was assigned the duty of creating the teaser poster for my group. I decided on the fusion of a human face with the eye of a wolf. My idea was also different as it was not a standard eye but coloured red, much like our film logo. I believed also that the eye should contrast against the rest of the image, setting the picture in a grey colour pallete while leaving the eye on full colour bloom. I originally decided on displaying both eyes front in a front, head on camera shot. Below is my drawing of my poster plan:

Filming.

Our filming took place in two locations as planned. one of our locations was in a dance studio at our college and the second was cross hills park in Clitheroe. Our chosen fantasy genre has been carried through as decided. We are currently undergoing editing of our filming to create the final product but also developing our Ancillary tasks. We have chose to take up 1 task each to the total of 3 Ancillary tasks. Our group have decided to create a theatrical poster, a teaser poster and a web page based on our film. We have also designed a logo, naming our film 'Lone Wolfe', as posted above (The font is hobbiton brush hand, courtesy of Dafont.com).
